EAA Young Eagles at S72
The Young Eagles program gives kids and teens ages 8 to 17 a free introductory airplane ride with a volunteer pilot. It is run by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and since 1992 volunteer pilots have taken more than two million young people on their first flight. There is no cost to the family.
What to expect
- A parent or legal guardian signs a registration and permission form before the flight.
- The pilot walks around the airplane with your Young Eagle and explains how it works.
- A short flight over the St. Maries area, usually about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Afterward, each Young Eagle gets a certificate and can sign up for free learning offers from EAA, including an online ground school course.
